Another nail in the coffin of us owning our own football stadium. Rock, Pop, Athletics, Baseball whatever next? If only one could turn the clock back!

"was amazed how you could have 60,000 people and zero atmosphere"

That must've set you up nicely for your first game at the London Stadium?

Went to a baseball game in San Fran, was amazed how you could have 60,000 people and zero atmosphere. Was the most boring 4 hours of my life

American football brightens my life.

Weedy University blokes in all that padding look amusing, and I especially liked the one I saw cycling home the other day.

Like clowns, but without the sinister aspect.

It's like a little chess match going on between the two managers

Of course if your looking for power home run hitters then the American League is your choice

You're going to struggle to make a decent case if you're putting forward a type of substitution as an example Cough.

Baseball is great, plenty of little intricacies to make it interesting, like the double switch used mainly in the National League

Strictly speaking you CAN'T call NFL a sport, because the sport is American Football.

East Auckland Hammer 10:56 Tue May 8
Re: Baseball at the London Stadium
That still doesn't necessarily make it a great sport TM.

Re: Baseball at the London Stadium
Strictly speaking you CAN call the NFL parochial since no other country (except Canada with small rule differences) plays the game.

However, Baseball is played all over the world, to a high standard in quite a few.

Anyway, I like baseball. It's a bit like cricket and they are BOTH good.

Re: Baseball at the London Stadium
why do you keep talking bollocks about something you know nothing about. you call the nfl parochial yet it draws the biggest tv rights deal in any sport on the planet at $39.6 billion

Re: Baseball at the London Stadium
Why the fuck are we trying to import parochial US sports into this country. Our sports are are great and played by everybody else in the world. We don't need that silly American rugby type game or rounders for big boys. It's only the sort of people that think wrestling is real who like septic sports.

Re: Baseball at the London Stadium
The only reason I'd enthuse about baseball was if we could snatch Tottenham's record for being the only reasonably sized football club to win a Championship other than a football one.

And even then, I'd only watch it on Ceefax (or whatever its replacement is called).

Re: Baseball at the London Stadium
Your local team is the Red Sox, so all Brits should support them unless they have another good reason to support someone else.

Supporting a completely cunty team with all the money is NOT a good reason. Yes, I'm looking at you El Scorchio.
